2 Years of Indie Game Development: A Beautiful Struggle

Hi everyone!

Today I’ve got a nice retrospective-devlog combo video for you where I compare what CultGame looked like 2 years ago when I first started working on it full-time to what it looks like now.

I also give a bit of a preview on what the Crusade gameplay looks like along with what the ritual feature is. I really want to wait until I have a good vertical slice to show you, and so I can make a funny video for it, so I’m holding off on making both of those each their own devlogs, but we have been COOKING on those for a while.

The latter half of this video talks about my feelings regarding indie game development. The short of it is that I love it and was born to do it, but the amount of fear and uncertainty regarding the feasibility of it is scary, and it gets to me sometimes. This won’t keep me from finishing CultGame of course, but I legitimately wonder about if I’ll get to do what I love for the rest of my life without major roadblocks.

Other news: -Live action trailer for CultGame is in the works! Filming with a professional film crew and actors will begin soon -Alpha Demo release after following work: Crusades, Rituals, basic polishing and porting to Windows

Thank you as always for checking in! I’m really privileged to have such supportive fans of this niche and weird game. Games are defined by the memories and experiences they create, and you are a huge part of this :)
